Tips For Getting Rid of Cellulite

In most cases, getting rid of cellulite is a lot harder than losing weight.  Even people who have lost a lot of weight still tend to battle to budge the cellulite.  Here I have researched some tips for getting rid of cellulite.

What Is Cellulite?

Why do over 90 percent of women have cellulite and what is it?

Tips for getting rid of cellulite

Cellulite is a gel-like substance which is made up of water, fat and waste products.  This water, fat, and waste are trapped in lumpy and resistant pockets beneath the skin.

Unfortunately, these pockets are like sponges as they can absorb more water and bulge out even more so that you get that orange peel or cottage cheese look on your thighs and buttocks.

Women are more prone to cellulite than men, as they have more fatty tissue and more estrogen in their bodies than men.

Here are some great and inexpensive tips for getting rid of cellulite in the most effective way possible.

Watch What You Eat

This is the biggest and best tip I can give you. What you eat makes a huge difference to your outer appearance over time.

Try adding these foods to your diet as they will help you to speed up your metabolism and also flush out those toxins that much faster.

  • Seafood

Drink Lots Of Water

At least two liters a day of water should be taken in if possible.

Exercise More

Try to do at least 15 minutes of exercise a day or 35 minutes three times per week.

Regular Skin Brushing

Brush your skin daily before your bath or shower with a natural plant fiber brush.  This will improve your circulation, brush off dead cells and encourage new cell growth.

It is also an easy and inexpensive method that seems to work quite well over time.  When brushing your skin, start at your feet and then make sweeping movements up the legs making long, light brisk movements.  All brushing movements must go towards the heart to encourage lymphatic and blood flow.

Take A Supplement

Glucosamine is a good supplement to take as it helps your body repair the connective tissue.

Maintain A Constant Weight

Yo yo, dieting is the worst thing for cellulite. Maintaining a constant weight is the best thing for cellulite.

If you follow the above advice, you will over time notice your cellulite disappearing as your body starts to flush out all the toxic waste that it is harboring just under the surface of your skin.

  1. I have some cellulite, but I don’t really care too much about it. But if I were to try the things on the list, the hard thing for me to do, based on the recommendations, would be to give up coffee. I love my coffee in the morning. I definitely do need to drink more water for sure. That can be a tough one as well, sometimes I just don’t feel thirsty or I’m busy and don’t even realize.

    1. Hi Dave,

Men are not really so worried about cellulite, as they don’t get it as noticeably as women do. I agree coffee would be hard to give up, but as they say, everything in moderation.

  2. Hi, there forever-youthful,

What a great explanation about cellulite.

I would guess most of us have many times heard the expression cellulite; but never really understood what it really is, especially men.

Very interesting to read that it is much more prevalent in women than men, I wonder if that has something to do with child bearing.

The foods to eat as you have suggested; cover quite a variety of healthy food which is good for everyone.

    Nice site.

    1. Thanks for the comment Tom. Cellulite is more prevalent in women, probably due the all the excess hormones and the fact that we don’t have as much lean muscle as men do.

Unfortunately, most women have it somewhere or other on their bodies, and it is a constant struggle to get rid of it. But as you can see there are many ways of helping to combat cellulite and make it appear less obvious.
